Set N Stone is a high-energy party and rock band from Metro Detroit, built on musicianship, chemistry, and the kind of onstage fun that gets every generation on their feet. What began as a one-time performance opportunity quickly evolved into one of the area’s most exciting young bands—earning loyal crowds, major event slots, and a reputation for delivering unforgettable live shows.

Set N Stone began in the summer of 2019 when five young musicians—Brenden Kucken, Austin Kucken, Austin Hart, Nik Kaljaj, and Mat Kaljaj—came together through Music Maker Studio in Shelby Township. At just 13–17 years old, the group entered and won the 98.7 WCSX My Kid Rocks competition, earning the chance to open for the Little River Band at the GM Ren Cen in Downtown Detroit. What started as a plan to play one unforgettable show quickly grew into something much bigger as gig opportunities were passed their way.

Even through the challenges of the pandemic, Set N Stone kept their momentum alive by performing outdoor shows and steadily building a reputation as one of Metro Detroit’s most exciting young live bands. Their strong musicianship, deep love for the music they played, and natural chemistry onstage helped them grow a loyal following and secure opportunities at local events and staple community fundraisers like Rock4Tots. Along the way, they also impressed in multiple Battle of the Bands competitions, winning the majority they entered.

As the band evolved, life naturally took some original members in new directions. Set N Stone continued forward, welcoming new talent who already had roots in the band’s story. Brenden and Austin knew both Antonio Morejon and Jillian Prais from their early days at Music Maker Studio, making their additions feel like a full-circle moment. When it came time to search for the right drummer, one of Brenden’s friends from high school, Alex Chorazyczewski (nicknamed "Chud"), stepped in with a standout audition and completed the new lineup.

The refreshed five-piece lineup—Brenden, Austin, Antonio, Jillian, and Alex—played their first show together on May 17th, 2024. The chemistry was instant. Since then, Set N Stone has grown a dynamic, diverse setlist of nearly 70 songs spanning the 60s through the 90s and beyond, embracing everything from yacht rock staples to dance-floor anthems.

Recent highlights include expanding into new venues, strengthening their presence in the Metro Detroit music community, returning to beloved community events, and winning Freddy’s Bandwagon Brawl in 2025, securing a spot in the rotation at one of the area’s most respected live music destinations.

Now into their 20's and backed by years of experience, professionalism, and strong musical roots, Set N Stone continues to grow—delivering unforgettable performances and writing a story that’s only beginning.
